As many of you are aware, I have children in the band, cheerleading and football teams, so I get exposed to a lot of opportunities.
Coach Tony Lotti (Head football Coach at WHHS) and the team chaplain Shane Satterfield have created a wonderful new program called Spartans Helping Spartans. Please read the attached email from Coach Lotti to learn more about this program. It is NOT only for football players and their families..it is for ALL Spartans! We ARE building a great big family and we need to help one another. If you are able to donate clothes or if you need assistance, please follow the instructions below.
This will be a GREAT year for all the Spartans,

Good Afternoon Spartan Nation.
As you all know, school begins in a few weeks and I can imagine that your back-to-school shopping is in full swing. We have built a strong family here at West Hall over the past few years and we take pride in helping each other. This year our football program is providing an opportunity to help out some of our fellow Spartan families with school clothes for their children. Our 12th man club will be collecting clothes on 4 select days at the Field House. Tuesday, July 29th 12pm-1pm, Thursday, July 31st 12pm-1pm, Tuesday, August 5th at 5-6pm, and Thursday August 7th at 5-6pm.
Here is what we need:
We ask that you pre-wash all items and put them in plastic bags. You can drop off the bags at the field house behind the school on the dates above. We will sort, fold and deliver the clothes to those that request or need them.
PS…if your family is in need of a few items of clothing for your children this year to get them ready for school, you can make a CONFIDENTIAL request directly to our team chaplain Shane Satterfield at :firstname.lastname@example.org or at 770-561-9014. Your request will remaincompletely confidential and no one will know who made the request.
If you know of a Spartan family that is need, you can make a request on their behalf to the Team Chaplain as well.
Thank you all!!
Together we will do great things!

Your student should attend with you and plan to stay for their first full rehearsal from 3PM-5PM.
They will need to wear proper attire (tshirt, shorts, socks and tennis shoes (hats, bandannas, and sunglasses also help)). Also be sure to pack extra shoes and socks during the week (the first pair can get wet marching on the grass in the morning), sunscreen, water bottle (we have water available for them to fill up). Snacks and water will be available during the day.
They should eat a light breakfast (we don't want someone passing out on the field), and be drinking plenty of water today, tonight, tomorrow, etc. so that they are well hydrated BEFORE they get out in the heat. They will also be served a good lunch each day.
Band Camp is 8AM-6PM every day. If your on time, your late! So best to have them their at least 15 minutes ahead of time so they can get their equipment and get to the field.
There are parent volunteers there helping during the day with lunch, handing out snacks, first aid, water breaks, etc. If you have not signed up to help please consider signing up tomorrow at the meeting. You don't have to do a whole day, just do what you can, it is a great way to meet other parents and see how hard your student is working! See Debbie Oliver to sign up.
There will be a performance on Friday night to show you all they have learned during the week (you will be AMAZED!). Invite your family and friends to come out and see a little of The Band of Silver's half time show before the first game.
The Band Booster Board has been working hard to get things ready for this week and are looking forward to meeting all of you and having you become a part of this great team. We don't ask you to do everything but please volunteer to do something. If everyone does a little we can accomplish so much. We have lots of things to choose from (concessions, chaperones, fundraisers, committees, etc.) and you will have the opportunity to sign up tomorrow at the meeting.
