"Pass-offs" are instructional tools utilized to meet the Georgia Music Standards of Performing, Connecting, Responding, and Creating. They are academic and beneficial to music learning. Pass-offs are used in the music classroom to further strengthen what we practice in class every day, such as rhythm, note-reading, musicality, sight-reading, and more. Students will be assigned a set number of pass-offs to perform in-person or through self-recorded videos. Student will have opportunities to perform pass-offs before school, during class, after school, all with teacher discretion. Those who wish to record videos may utilize the link below. All pass-offs will have assigned deadlines (listed below and attached to the pass-off spreadsheet). Pass-offs are marked in the Handbook as a 20% grade, just like any other quiz or assignment in academic classes. Students will receive a warning if late on a deadline, then a 10% decrease on the overall grade weekly until all excerpts of assigned level are performed to highest ability. Pass-offs assignments are subject to change throughout the school year based on time-frame and level.
