Rookie Camp is one day in July that provides an opportunity for upcoming band students to learn basics, fundamentals, and meet the band staff and student officers. Incoming freshmen will meet many new people in the band during Rookie Camp, which helps them feel a part of the community at West Hall High School before school even starts. All incoming freshmen and other new members should plan to attend Rookie Camp. Check the band calendar for specific dates.

​Band Camp occurs during the last two weeks in July. It takes place at West Hall High School. The first week of Band Camp runs Wednesday-Friday (9am-5pm) and the second week of Band Camp occurs the following week from Monday-Friday (9:00am until 9:00pm).

This is an opportunity for students to work with the expanded staff to review basics, fundamentals, and learn their role in the upcoming season’s marching show. Camp is also an opportunity for students to build friendships with fellow students that last throughout the year.  Incoming band members will meet many new people in the band during camp which helps them become part of the community at West Hall High School before school even starts. A fee for food and instruction is required for camp. Band membership is dependent on attendance and participation at band camp.
